Native Shrubs and Trees for spring planting
From now until May 9th the Carlisle Garden Club is pleased to offer a variety of native shrubs and trees. These cultivars were chosen for their beauty and vigor in Carlisle, and because they are native they will support birds, insects, and other wildlife in your yard. Availability is limited so don’t delay!
Plants can be picked up at the Center Park Monday May 19th from 9am to 12pm. All sales support the Garden Club’s civic beautification programs.
Latin Name: Cercis canadensis
Description: Magenta-pink blooms in early to late spring. Blooms are on the twigs and branches. New leaves emerge shiny and reddish purple. Dark reddish brown exfoliating bark with large shiny heart-shaped leaves. This is a small, low-branching tree with a spreading, flat-topped to rounded crown.
